Bob's ART du Jour

Hi, I'm Bob Eggleton and this is my painting and "life in general blog" but mostly paintings. Usually they're for sale. Anyway, if you like something contact me at zillabob@cox.net and ENJOY!!

My Photo
Name:
Location: New England, United States

I am a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully) but I have a passion for landscape work, small paintings and exploring the properties of paint. This blog will mostly showcase my "painting-for-the-day" as kind of a personal voyage. I'll also be inserting sketches, photos and ideas of projects I am working on, that I can, when I can, so look for those every so often(usually as paint is drying!)

Hurricane Irene

Irene Comes Calling (8x10, oils $100)

I am as people know, inspired by nature's worst weather. Having had a hurricane pass directly over us this last week, was epic enough to inspire a few ideas. This is the first one, a brooding feeling of unease as the sea boils up and dark clouds begin to move in. Again, I am inspired by Turner and Coubet as painters, for this vision. Enjoy!

New Drawings.....

Titanosaurus( 16x20 inches-IDW Comic cover sketch, conte, charcoal $SOLD) I'm working for IDW on covers for their hit GODZILLA comic series. Here's a concept sketch for a cover coming up!.

Godzilla Catching a Train(Conte, charcoal SOLD!)

Prototype 1954 Godzilla (conte, charcoal SOLD)

Welcome to Area 51(Conte, charcoal, ink, gouache-SOLD!)

Some new drawings, three sold at the World SF Con two weeks ago, but I have the Titanosaurus left. Lots of fun, as always when I do these things! I like the mixed media aspect, on toned paper. It has to be that certain grey color to be just right!

Strange Demon!

"Marine Abomination" (conte, chalk on toned paper SOLD)16x20

I did this for my friend Jim Pavelec's upcoming book of Demons and demonic poetry. It's a wonderful looking book and I'll place ordering info soon. Anyway, I had a great time doing this and, it reminded me I like creating my own weird creatures and demons, and that I should do more!
